WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

80% of cybersecurity experts in Europe are men*. The role of women in this sector is vital and must be strengthened. In a world where digital technology conditions the smooth running of our societies, cyber-attacks are multiplying and becoming increasingly sophisticated and diverse in form.

Against this backdrop, the community of cybersecurity experts forms the shield of our digital activities, and needs are growing: 350,000 vacancies exist in the cybersecurity sector in Europe**. To defend us properly, digital protection professionals need to reflect the face of our society.

Orange Cyberdefense has therefore decided to launch an international citizens' consultation with Make.org in order to identify concrete solutions for increasing the number of women in the cybersecurity professions, for the benefit of all.

WHY DO WE GET INVOLVED?

  1. The need for cybersecurity specialists is growing. This is a tremendous opportunity to move towards gender equality in the sector.
  2. Building a safer digital society for everyone requires constant innovation, fostered by more diverse teams in the face of ever more inventive cyber attackers.
  3. Cybersecurity professions are highly varied and meaningful, and we are committed to making them accessible.
“We can't afford to deprive ourselves of 50% of our talent. Ladies, dare to come and make a difference in a field that is shaping our digital future.” Hugues Foulon CEO Orange Cyberdefense

MOBILISATION ON GENERAL INTEREST :

Make.org's approach based on consensus

We are convinced that societal changes can only come from common ideas. This is why Make.org's approach always consists in looking for the common ground upon which collective engagement can be built. Our society is becoming more and more fragmented, we believe that involving citizens in those shared ideas is the best way to reconcile society and handle our disagreements.
